Illustrating the Bridgerton Brand World
Two years ago, I began work on an illustrated pattern system for Bridgerton through Netflix’s consumer products program. The goal was to translate a cinematic world into a flexible design language that could extend across global brand partnerships while still feeling unmistakably Bridgerton.
Originally brought on to create florals, the scope expanded to include Regency-inspired toiles and damasks, building a broader visual system from the ground up.
We began with three test patterns: a floral tied to the Season 4 love story, a core Bridgerton damask, and a Queen Charlotte–inspired holiday toile. With those in place, the full system quickly took shape.

THE BRIEF
The brief called for an art-forward rebrand of the consumer products program.
The system needed to do more than look like Bridgerton. It had to work across global teams and formats, adapting easily to different products and applications. Each asset was built to be flexible, able to be recolored, cropped, layered, simplified, or expanded as needed, while still feeling part of the same world.
This kind of system-building has been a focus of my illustration work for years, and I was thrilled to apply that thinking to the Bridgerton brand world.
DESIGNED TO FLEX
The challenge was designing for outcomes that didn’t yet exist. The system had to anticipate a wide range of partners, products, and brand voices.
The solution was a large, flexible visual library: layered patterns and spot illustrations designed to scale from small packaging details to large-format applications. The library was built around three core styles, damasks, toiles, and florals, forming a cohesive design framework.
DAMASKS
For structure and flexibility, as either a subtle texture or as a hero pattern with an unmistakable Regency-era voice. Above, Damask utilized in officially-licensed Bridgerton collaborations with Loungefly (L), Dove (C) and Nuuly (R)
TOILES
For narrative and whimsy, with a clear nod to historical pattern tradition and the ability to hide show-specific easter eggs for fans of the series. Above, Toile utilized in officially-licensed Bridgerton collaborations with The IQ Collection (L), Deichmann (C) and Williams Sonoma (R)
FLORALS
For softness, romance and movement. An approachable choice for any brand collaboration. (And, the opportunity to develop how the show’s iconic wisteria would be depicted going forward. Fun!) Above, Lady-in-Silver Florals utilized in officially-licensed Bridgerton collaborations with Williams Sonoma (L), Kitsch (C) and Dusk Australia (R)
Across each pattern style, I developed multiple designs in a range of colorways, with every individual element able to stand on its own. Each pattern became a kind of source material, something that could be used as a whole or pulled apart into smaller moments. The system was designed to flex and grow, offering both complete patterns and the building blocks to create something new.
